Minor League Baseball In 10 Minutes
Full Count: Cup of Coffee is the new TTX Sports tabletop baseball game. Three dice, four stats, one resolution roll per inning. Fast, abstract, real-feel scores.
"Cup of coffee" is the baseball term for a player called up from the minors for a brief stint in the big leagues. The game lives in that minor league world - scrappy teams, weird stadiums, fourteen-hour bus rides - but the engine itself is built for speed.
How It Plays
Each team carries four stats from 0 to 6: BAT, PIT, DEF, CLS. Roll 3d6 each half-inning, look up the result on the Game Grade matrix, read the runs. That's the loop.
Doubles on the dice trigger a defensive check. Triples land on a highlight reel - triple plays, inside-the-park HRs, big innings - but these are rare moments (~2 per game). Home edge kicks in innings 7-9 only. Closer and walk-off checks fire in the 8th and 9th when the late game gets tight.
Optional pre-game tables (stadium, weather, news, roster volatility) and a season storyline mechanic layer in texture for the games when you want flavour. Skip them entirely for pure speed.
