Over the Line — Premiership Rugby 2024-25 Season Ratings Pack
12 April 2026

The Season in Numbers
Bath Rugby dominated the 2024-25 Gallagher Premiership from start to finish. 72 league points. 96 tries scored. 56 conceded. A points differential of +234 across 18 matches. No other team came close.
The ratings pack translates that reality into dice. Bath earn ATK 9 / DEF 9 — the only 9/9 combination in the system. Their KICK 7 reflects a reliable boot, not a specialist kicking side. The double-9 is earned, not gifted.
At the other end, Newcastle Falcons finished the season having conceded 101 tries in 18 matches. Their DEF rating of 2 is the lowest any Premiership team has earned in this system. Their ATK 4 reflects the other half of the problem: a side that rarely created enough to win.
Between those extremes, there's a proper range of stories to simulate.
The Ratings
| Team | ATK | DEF | KICK | |------|-----|-----|------| | Bath | 9 | 9 | 7 | | Leicester | 7 | 7 | 6 | | Sale | 6 | 7 | 8 | | Bristol | 8 | 5 | 6 | | Harlequins | 5 | 6 | 6 | | Saracens | 6 | 6 | 7 | | Northampton | 7 | 6 | 6 | | Exeter | 6 | 6 | 5 | | Gloucester | 6 | 5 | 6 | | Newcastle | 4 | 2 | 5 |
Every rating is derived from real season data — tries scored and conceded per game map to ATK and DEF, kick points per game map to KICK. The methodology is included in the pack.
A Few Matchups Worth Playing
Bath vs Bristol — ATK 9 vs ATK 8. Bath's DEF 9 against Bristol's DEF 5. On paper, Bath win comfortably. But Bristol conceded more than any other top-half team and still made the play-offs. They'll score. Whether Bath score more is the question.
Sale vs Northampton — Sale's KICK 8 against Northampton's ATK 7 / DEF 6. Sale's strategy was built around defensive structure and George Ford's kicking game. Northampton had the attack to test them.
Any side vs Newcastle — DEF 2 means almost any attack finds the line. The question is how many times, and whether Newcastle's ATK 4 can find enough points to stay competitive.
